We have temporarily reserved all available rooms in the Jagiellonian University guesthouses in the center of Krakow, at a somewhat discounted rates. The addresses and details are:
To have this (discounted) prices, please use the "VIPERS meeting" words when making a reservation. Our reservation will be valid until 5 September (if you decide to reserve later using the same password, prices will be the same, but they will not keep the rooms reserved for us).
Unfortunately, the number of rooms there will not be sufficient for all of us. Other reasonable choices we have checked are:
These hotels we have personally checked.
There are also many other possibilities (hotels, hostels, bed and breakfast type lodging) which can be found e.g. through many booking services (www.booking.com, www.urlopwpolsce.pl, www.bookassist.com and others), and usually they have their own web pages. If you are not sure about the reliability of anything you have found through the net, please feel free to ask us.
A relatively cheap alternative are also the students' hotels: http://www.hotelestudenckie.pl They are usually decent and safe, we should not expect high standards there - but as a low-budget solution they might make sense.
If we find something else worth sharing with others, we will be grateful. Krakow became so turistic now that everywhere in Krakow English (better or worse) is spoken and you should have no trouble with communication. If you find any - please let us know, again, and we will try to solve the problem.
